DFW Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Screening Day
Saturday, October 4, 2026 | 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM | Reverchon Park, Dallas
Free mammogram screenings, blood pressure checks, and wellness consultations offered to women 40 and older. Hosted by area health systems in partnership with the American Cancer Society. No insurance required.

South Dallas Community Wellness Expo
Saturday, September 13, 2026 | 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM | Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center, Dallas
A full-day health and wellness fair featuring free screenings, fitness demos, nutrition counseling, and vendor booths from local health providers and nonprofits serving South Dallas residents.

Fort Worth Fall Neighborhood Block Party
Sunday, September 21, 2026 | 12:00 PM – 6:00 PM | Fort Worth Cultural District, Fort Worth
An annual celebration of community, culture, and creativity featuring live music, local food vendors, artisan markets, and family activities throughout the Cultural District. Free and open to all.

DFW Young Professionals Mixer: Fall Kickoff
Thursday, September 18, 2026 | 6:30 PM – 9:00 PM | The Statler Hotel, Dallas
Network with more than 200 professionals from across the DFW metro area at this quarterly mixer hosted by the DFW Young Professionals Network. Open bar, light bites, and speed networking included with ticket purchase.

HBCU College Fair: DFW Fall Edition
Saturday, October 11, 2026 | 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM | Arlington Convention Center, Arlington
Representatives from more than 30 HBCUs across the country meet with prospective students and families. Application fee waivers, on-the-spot interviews, and scholarship information available at this free college fair.

Irving Small Business Expo & Entrepreneurship Panel

Connect with lenders, mentors, and fellow entrepreneurs at this one-day expo featuring panel discussions on access to capital, branding, and scaling a small business in the DFW market. Free admission with registration.

Hope Scholarship Workshop for High School Seniors
Saturday, September 27, 2026 | 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM | Paul Quinn College, Dallas
Hands-on workshop guiding high school seniors and their parents through FAFSA completion, scholarship essay writing, and financial aid strategies. Hosted by Paul Quinn College's Office of Admissions. Free registration required.

Grand Prairie Cultural Heritage Festival
Sunday, October 12, 2026 | 1:00 PM – 7:00 PM | Traders Village, Grand Prairie
Celebrating the rich traditions of the DFW African American community with live performances, cultural exhibits, local cuisine, and a Juneteenth Legacy Showcase honoring community elders and changemakers.

Race for Awareness 5K Walk/Run

A community 5K benefiting breast cancer research and patient support services. All fitness levels welcome. Register online at raceforawareness.org. Post-race wellness fair includes vendor booths and mental health resources.

DFW Workforce Development Summit
Wednesday, October 22, 2026 | 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM | Dallas Convention Center, Dallas
A full-day summit connecting job seekers, workforce professionals, and employers. Features resume workshops, employer panels, on-site interviews, and sessions on tech careers, healthcare pathways, and trades certifications.

  • How do I submit an upcoming event to the community calendar?
    Email your event details — name, date, time, location, a brief description (50 words or fewer), and a contact name — to our editorial team at events@communitylifestylemagazine.com. Submissions for the November/December issue close October 15, 2026. Digital calendar updates are accepted on a rolling basis.
  • What types of events does the magazine feature?
    We prioritize events that serve the DFW Black community and broader metro area — including health fairs, cultural celebrations, professional networking events, college and career workshops, and community wellness activities. Events must be open to the public or clearly described as ticketed/registration-required.
  • How do I submit a community news tip or announcement?
    Send your news tip — including the who, what, when, where, and why — to news@communitylifestylemagazine.com. Include any supporting images (minimum 1200px wide, 300 DPI for print consideration) and a media contact. We review all submissions but cannot guarantee publication.
  • Can I advertise my business or event in the magazine?
    Yes. We offer a range of print and digital advertising options, including premium placements (inside front cover, back cover, full-page before feature stories) and standard placements throughout the issue. Visit our Advertise page for full rate card details and availability.
  • When is the next issue published, and how can I get involved?
